I don't think were in Kansas anymore....
Have I used the line 'these are my favorite' this month? Probably not, because these are for sure my favorite....I think! I've never been a rainbow fan. Not the ones after an afternoon rain storm, but accessories and such. An added bonus to the cuteness of these is that the Mom wanted the cupcake itself to be rainbow, which was a first...and time consuming but worth it.
Chevron was challenging. I found a ruler made by Fiskars that was very helpful.
For some reason this blue guy here turned out to be my fave! He has the most character!
This rainbow design would work great for a Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony as well.

The sweet sound of music!
This set was for a band raffle for a dear friend of mine. Not only did she order them, but she bid, won and got to take them home! I think it was rigged...just sayin'!

Mustache Crazy!
The mustache craze doesn't seem to be fading! My 6 year old, Addison, is requesting a panda bear/mustache party. She marches to the beat of her own drum usually. That one should be challenging!

Argh!
Is that really what pirates use to say I wonder?
This has been a stretch of new things for me, which I love! Derby, Piano recital (see that disaster here), puppies, high hats, penguins and now pirates! The best part is, my next month is full of new things too (besides graduation themed) so stay tuned! I'll be doing rainbow/unicorn, American Girl and The Avengers!

Derby Day!
Happy Derby Day Ya'll!
I love love love making new things! I've said in the past that other orders were my favorite, but these hats are just adorable! I want to make them for other occasions....but what? Easter? A tea party? Churchill Downs? Preakness? The Jockey silks I had to hand cut because I don't have a cutter for those. Horseshoes are an upside down "U" cookie cutter shaped into more of a horseshoe shape. And the hats....oh the hats! I used large circle cutters then rolled them out a little larger. I then placed them on an old school egg holder from older fridges, upside down of course, then decorated! So fun!

The Show Must Go On!
There's a first for everything right? I had my first cupcake delivery disaster...so heart breaking! Let me set the scene....rush hour traffic, cars weaving in and out, me slamming on brakes because of said weaving cars. Never did I think it would be as bad as it was. I asked my daughter to peek in the back and see how the cupcakes were doing. She turned and said, 'Mom, they're all tipped over!' Of course I thought she was kidding...and I said really Kaleigh how many? She looks again and as tears are welling up in her eyes...she says, "all of them". I knew then that she wasn't kidding. So she ever so gently got them from the back (yes while driving but technically we were only going like 5 mph so it doesn't count) and I was speechless! Disaster! Nothing survived!! I placed them in the passenger seat and went to work, again while 'driving'. I saved what I could and pieced backed together the pianos and guitars and music sheets and my 'do re me fa so la ti do's' were a word scramble at this point. Then I made the call to a very understanding old friend. She simply said things happen and that the kids would still love them, and they did!

Stylish Blogger Award!
So a friend of mine name Brooke awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award! Excepting this award means that I have to list 7 things you may not know about me...sounds fun, so here goes!
Check her blog out...I envy anyone who has an eye for fashion....if it's not paired together in a store....I'm lost!! So head here to see what she's got going on!
1. I have to put my right shoe on first or I feel like my whole day will go all wrong.
2. My oldest son is a senior in HS, my youngest daughter is in Kindergarten!
3. I would love to live on a farm.
4. I hate spiders, but snakes don't bother me.
5. I want a garden and chickens and maybe a goat...(this all may fall under #3.)
6. I collect corks, but rarely drink wine.
7. My son and I watch Jeopardy at least 4 nights a week and have been for 12+ years.
Gone to the Dogs!
Well puppies that is!This was such a fun family to work with. The 10 year old daughter 'S' and 8 year old brother 'R's birthdays are a week apart, and it was the 10 year olds idea to have the parties together...which I thought was so super sweet. They chose a puppy theme, (and got a puppy as a gift too!) Not from me of course, I only do cupcakes! I made sure to make each of them feel special by giving them there own box of cupcakes geared just towards them.
